This series consists of the minutes of the meetings of the Alabama Public Hunting and Forestry Association, Inc. Established in 1945 by legislative act no. 281, the corporation was made up of the Governor, the Director of Conservation, the Finance Director, and the Attorney General. Its purpose was to promote the health, safety, comfort, and general welfare of the people of the State of Alabama through the acquisition of lands in the state that were suitable for hunting, fishing, and recreational or forestry purposes. The Director of the Dept. of Conservation served as the corporation's president, thus the records of the meetings and activities were maintained by this department.
